Volunteer Opportunities
Please join us in serving on a committee for the Allen Elementary PTA during the 2011-2012 school year. Complete this form by checking the box next to the committee(s) in which you are interested. Thank you for your interest in the PTA!

Committees:
Book Fair: Helps with the fall & spring book fairs.
Cultural Arts: Helps coordinate the Reflections Art Program as well as helping to plan and support cultural arts programs within the school.
Cultures Around The World (non-religious): Supports Allen’s staff in planning this special night (share display/cultural dress items, coordinate a child’s game, coordinate cultural dance/song/art activity, etc.)
Directory: Help coordinate directory information and delivery.
School Wide Programs Support: Photocopies/collates publications/materials for all students and staff (Red/White Ribbon/College Weeks, Rachel’s Challenge, Character Education, Mix It Up at Lunch Days, Get Along Week); helps hang up and down the Chain of Kindness Links, demonstrates/shares stories of kind acts in the neighborhood.
Environmental Committee: Promotes environmental programs within the school such as the Green Team, Walk to School, and Earth Day programs.
Hospitality Committee: Coordinates refreshments for PTA functions, organizes teacher luncheons and teacher appreciation events.
Publicity Committee: Promotes PTA activities, organizes and prints student directory.
Spirit Store Committee: Manages the selections and sales of school spirit items.
Volunteer Committee: Helps the school staff and PTA committee chairs with various events throughout the year.
Fundraising Committee: Helps committee chairs with planning and implementing Run For the Gold, PTA’s major fundraiser for the year.
Community Partners Committee: Manages board approved store or product related programs, including Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor program, as well as helps with Spirit Nights throughout the year, including Papa Murphy’s and Mooyah.
SAGE: Promotes and acts as a liaison between PTA, parents and Special and Gifted Educators.
Watch D.O.G.S.(Dads of Great Students) Committee: Supports students and teachers by providing dads, uncles, older brothers, etc a chance to volunteer during the school day,
Sock Hop Committee: Assists committee chair with planning event, coordinating volunteers, decorating, setting up and tearing down, etc.
